Music is like art, it can gather inspiration, be shunned, be glorified, etc.

But most importantly, they both have a 'mainstream'.

If you get caught up in the mainstream or try to (re)create something what everyone else listening to or what is favorable at the time... you will be just like everyone else.

Try something different, be out there.
